Greater Kailash

Greater Kailash or GK is a residential area in South Delhi, comprising several neighborhoods and multiple markets. It is home to some of the most affluent families in Delhi. It is divided into two zones, namely Parts 1 and 2, located around a section of the Outer Ring Road. Greater Kailash 1 was developed in the 1960s by DLF Limited when Delhi Government allowed private developers to build colonies, and is today one of the more affluent neighborhoods in the city. The markets in M and N Block are some of the most popular markets in Delhi. It has a wide range of retail stores, such as Giovanni, Next, Puma, Nike, Adidas and Lacoste, and several restaurants and coffee houses. The N-Block market is the location for FabIndia’s first retail store, and many eating houses. Durgabari, the home of Maa Durga, as it is commonly known is an important landmark in Greater Kailash-I. GK II is a popular market, with many restaurants and coffee shops and sanitary shops. It is one of the largest hubs for sanitary ware in Northern India. Recently the market has experienced heavy foot fall due to several posh restaurants and Banks.
